"Of life's two chief prizes, beauty and truth, I found the first in a loving heart and the second in a laborer's hand."
-Khalil Gibran
Love is the most important thing you will find in the whole world. Its what is the greatest thing I have ever experienced and it is the most beautiful dream that has ever come true. My loving heart has been brought to its knees when I fell in love with the best man in the whole world. I remember when I first heard those words from his lips. It was a song, it was a sonnet, it was a vision and a dream. And something I will always feel grateful for. Because they were his words and will always speak directly to me.
Its the same thing with my relationship with Jesus Christ. I was so very young when the introduction was made and yet I fell in love completely. They say that the relationship you have with your father is the one that you will Characterize as the one that you will have with your creator. And for that they do not lie. I love my father, he is the best man in the whole world. Kind, compassionate and the most affectionate man I know.
He invited anyone who comes into our house with a hug that spoke volumes as to the person he is and the man I will always want to emulate. Because of that it was no surprise that I found Jesus early on in my life. He is the first person that I will always know as being the example that I want to lead. To turn the other cheek in trying circumstance and to be the leader that is followed not only because of his revolutionary ideas but because he inspires adoration and devotion.
In my everyday life I seek out my friends and co-workers. I have been gifted with encouragement and hospitality and since those are my great gifts aside from intercession it is no wonder that people have become deep and meaningful friends, and it happens in relatively short order.
( I want to state here that I am not trying to appear arrogant, or prideful) Its just when someone has a chance to see me for who I am and know my loving and endearing nature they fall in love with the person who I most want to Emulate. And that is Jesus Christ. I take my philosophy of ministry very sacredly and seek out opportunities to be a servant daily. I like to quote Steven Curtis Chapman in his song "Everything that You Do"
'Let everything that you do, be for the one who made you, because he made you, to do.... every little thing that you do with a smile and grace' I have taken the time to go above and beyond for the current job that I am in because I know that it reflects daily on who Christ is to me and where His Example shine's brightest is in my everyday demeanor.
So many people forget that they are lights to the world and because of it they fail to take note of how their actions portray them. Its one of the things that I try to be most conscious of because it is too easy to forget that God in his mercy gave us free will to worship him with all our passion. He also gave us time to remember that in Sending Jesus we are not worthy of those sandals we try to fill.
Well that is my thought for today.
